Having already announced a "business alliance" with Google last month, Sony recently announced plans to use the Android platform to create "a new range of portable devices", one of which will be a tablet computer to "compete with the iPad".
What's planned is (apparently) to combine PlayStation Portable, the Xperia smartphone and the Walkman music player into either one device or a series of devices. This seems to be the latest in a line of [insert Apple product here] killers, all of which have had various degrees of success. We'll keep you posted as to how this one works out.
