After weeks of details leaking out, the Droid X has finally been made official at a Motorola Event. Beyond the normal smartphone specs, the Droid X brings with it HDMI out, DLNA, and a 4.3 inch screen (Full specs below). It will ship with Android 2.1 with a 2.2 update coming sometime during the summer. Skype will be integrated on the phone, and Swype will be the default keyboard onboard. This phone is coming soon, with a July 15th release date. It will be priced at $199 with a contract after a $100 rebate.

  • A huge 4.3", 16:9, 854x480 screen (that's 400,000 pixels)

  • HDMI out and DLNA support

  • 1GHz OMAP processor

  • Full Flash 10.1 (not available at launch)
  • 8 gigs on board and a 16gig card included, but compatible with 32gig SD cards for a total potential memory of 40 gigs

  • 512mb RAM

  • 8 megapixel camera that captures 720p HD video

  • Three microphones (outward-facing for video, noise-canceling, and regular)

  • a 1570mAh battery, which should be 'comparable to the Droid 1' on battery life

  • GPS, Bluetooth, WiFi, naturally
