Well, all those who hoped news of the HTC Aria meant AT&T was getting serious about offering the full Android experience will be very disappointed today. As review units of the Aria begin to roll out, it took little time to notice that just like the Motorola Backflip, the option to install non-market apps has been disabled (See side by side below of the Nexus One and HTC Aria menus). This means no downloading apps from other websites, thus severely limiting it's potential. This is disappointing given the promise of the phone, but not entirely unexpected given AT&T's seemingly high lack of interest in the Android platform.
